Wow your right. It does have a feather pattern in its wings. So very cool. The clarity is great. The angle of the shot of this unique butterfly is great. The capture of the light is great. the image is balance and eye appealing to the viewer. Good eye and great job overall

Yes, the patterns in the wings, like feathers is what attracted me to the butterfly, as well as the shadow that was there based on the angle of the shot. It all came together for me perfectly in the camera's lens.

This white butterfly just looks fantastic, and no real photographer would pass it without taking a photo. It is unusual that it is sitting on a rock, and you have brought out the fine textures of it in a very good way.
The photo is also sharp and it is clear details to be seen in the wings and body of the butterfly. The exposure is fine, but I think the very strong shadows is a distraction. Especially the one under the butterfly.
The format works well, and I think the butterfly has got a fine placement within the frame. It is a lovely photo, but again, the shadows are too strong in my opinion.

I did try cropping out the right side, and some of the shadow underneath, but it then looked incomplete as a composition, it did not have the same visual flow. The two shadows bring a nice balance to the image.
So, I have to respectfully disagree with your comments, because having shot it in direct sunlight, every aspect is controlled really well when I look at the image as presented.

It is nothing wrong with the shadows Lucien, but they are too strong, and for me a distraction. So we disagree, but you are more than welcome for the review.

Excellent focus and exposure,the white is not blown out,allowing a good visual of the pattern and wing veining,once shadow,the overall coloration of the rock with the white veins running thru,as well as it's texture make for a complimentary backdrop. I'm not sure about the shadow on the right,I feel that it distracts from the butterfly; I would be interested in seeing what it looked like if it was edited out,as I like the butterfly's off center placement. It's a beautiful image and I wish you all the best in the contest!
