Lighting and shadows help make this an outstanding scene. The shadow areas force us to look deeper into the scene looking for more detail. The lighting on his fur gives us a feeling of a soft cuddly critter. Pose and POV is spot on.

This is a great image. You always post such amazing creatures. I like the fact that you teach me so many new things about animals and various other vegetation that I have never heard of. I images are always spot on. Great color and detail. Always a pleasure to see your photographs.

What a stunning portrait this is! Initial impact is wow! The warm, rich colors of the animal and the scenery around him are just beautiful. You captured him at the perfect moment, when the light illuminated a great majority of him. He makes such a nice contrast to the shadows surrounding him and this tight crop is just perfect. Love this shot!

Now this is a good capture Fred.
I see only minor "hot" spots on the way the sun backlit him, but your focus is good and it has a nice low key style of lighting about it that emotes more and draws us in.
Nice work of an animal I never saw before.

From my screen I think the image first appeared a little soft, but when I blew it up it seemed to show the wonderful detail focused on the face of this creature. I do like that the right side blends into the background just a bit...I think it adds a little mystery to this. Thanks for sharing, a pleasure to view and review.

The Coati is perfect focused. I am impressed by the sharpness and refinement of detail. I see the white whiskers and single hairs of its coat. Colors and light are realistic. The photo is well exposed and has good depth.
