Good crop and great written description. There are interesting critter in all parts of the country. The only point I would make is the body of the carb seems a touch over blown. My guess is the be not using a tripod or flash, the camera took this shot at a slower speed and let in a little more light than you hoped. Also the slower speed softened the scene a bit. Totally interesting subject matter.

This is an interesting close-up. This crab seems to look at us, the reviewers. The wood at left is a nice natural frame which emphasizes the crab. Your photo is well focused and exposed and has good depth. I appreciate the realism of color and light. The tight framing is sufficient. The composition is balanced.
