I miss stuff when I'm not on site for a few days, this is an incredible image, It does indeed look like a painting!I love how this Bison fills the frame with it's massive bulk, excellent focus as I can see the texture of the fur,the bits of grass from when it was rolling around attempting to remove the remaining winter coat. The sky is impressive,as it resembles an aura emanating from this bison. Just a beautiful photo for the contest,I wish you all the best!

Highly mixed media creation. Shame I would love to see this chap just as he is, without the make up. Love his wooly face and legs, his fur on his back seems to be molting or is it like that permanently? You don't say where it is.

Thank you for your review. This photo was taken in Yellowstone Park. His Winter fur is coming off getting ready for Summer. Thank you for your questions ~ Steve

I'm a Nebraska native, and the buffalo used to be the state symbol. The state should bring it back and pay YOU for the rights to use your stunning photo! Love the texture in the fur, and the overall composition and colors.

I just love this. And it so deserves a 6, but the buffalo's face seems a little out of focus. I love what you did with the background. The contrasting colors all work harmoniously well together, the tight crop of the focal point helps to give the overall composition depth and I love buffalo. Great portrait.

You're welcome Steve. I really do love it. Hope you haven't been affected by the wildfires or the Covid 19 nightmare. Aimee

    Hey Aimee,

I live in Tennessee so no problems with the fires out West. Virus cases in our town have been very low thus far. Being prudent whenever out seems to working well so far. I hope all is well with you and your loved ones.

Fantastic photograph of this buffalo. I like the colors of the sky. Good focus and lighting. Sharp detail. Nicely composed. Well done. Good luck in the photo contest.

Very good close-up steve and the slight alteration in it adds a certain something,i might have left a tad more room in front of it though, but that saying you managed to catch the essence of the buffalo so that slightly overrides that fact, good one...Brian

I like how you edited this photo and gave it a more enhanced appearance. I think the way the orange in the background looks with the subject matter amplifies the effect of the photo, at least for me. It has this Native American vibe to it, with the buffalo roaming the prairie with the intense colors of the sun in the background. This close up photo has great sharpness and textures, and I think something like this would make for a great painting.

Impressive capture, Steve. Perfect framing and close up view. That sky is quite something and works well. Seamless post processing makes every aspect of the look great and artistic. An excellent contest entry. Good luck. Ed.

This is a great photo, love the fact that it's so crisp of the bison That I can see the light reflected in his eye. and the colours in the background just seem to create a sense of fantasy. When I first looked I thought it was a painting. Great photo!
