A great close up of this woolly and rather large buffalo. You have a way with using filters and other mixed media. Good use of contrasting colours to highlight the brown buffalo. Great contest entry and all the best Steve!

A very striking scene. I like the tight cropping but might like to see the back end of the buffalo. The colors are great and the eye is full of life.

Well you really earned my
extra sparkle on this one FS...This image is truly striking and majestic. I can see wonderful texture, very nice color, and I really like what you did with the sky.
I'm not sure I've ever seen an image of yours with the watermark, but it doesn't take away from this breathtaking buffalo. It's very eye catching and up close and personal...so professional in its viewpoint.
Best of the best in the competition. I can see it as the winner!

Thank you so much VO for your Fabulous review and Over the top rating. Sean mentioned that I had used that Stupid FAR Watermark. I don't know how I missed that. I don't know how to remove it. Oh well. I guess it is what it is. I will be more diligent next time. Thank you again VO ~ FS

PS ~ He was very peaceful until I tried to pet him. Long story but it left a mark!

I hope you were not one of those silly people who attempted to pat this big boy? This belongs on National Geographic's cover.
The framing, the sky and the colors are perfect. Wish I had a 6 to give you. You have conveyed his size with the crop. Balanced and focus are right on. Super shot. South Dakota or Yellowstone?

Thanks a lot Gary for your Great review. This was in Yellowstone, my favorite place. I grew up 90 miles from West Yellowstone so have had the good fortune of visiting Many times.

BraVo Steve ð??? this is a prefect entry for the contest. Because it really shows the spirit of nature, the harmony of all creation. Remineds the connection to the native American people and traditions. The colors are contrast and vivid! Especially the sky. Excellent use of filters. Pleasure to review ð???

Wow. Thank you so much my Good Friend. I am so glad that you liked this one. I shot this one in Yellowstone Park last year. Will be heading back there in July of next year. Any requests for a photo that you would like to turn into a painting? That might be a good challenge for you My Artist Buddy!

    Thanks again Lucas ~ Steve

Cool,Steve!
These beasts meant a lot to the people of the 'Far Western Tribal Nations',didn't they?
Everything about your mixed media photographic presentation ( with the exception of that distracting 'FanArtReview' watermark on the main upload! ) looks great,my friend!

What a magnificent creature. He looks very strong. I visited South Dakota and went through a park and saw bison, I think. I pretended they were buffalo, and could very well have been. I like the painted look of the sky. You did a great job with that. I hope you were using a zoom lens. You look pretty close to him to me.

My pleasure! The cameras in the phones these produce a real quality picture and they are less heavy and balky.

This close-up portrait is stunning. I am impressed by the sharpness of detail and the realism of color at the body and coat of the Buffalo. The animal looks magnificent. Although, the animal is eating, it seems alert and observes the surrounding area. The sunset sky at the background is impressive and emphasizes the Buffalo remarkably. The tight framing is adequate. The animal is well placed within the frame. The composition is balanced.
