Ha this actually looks like crumpled paper or tissue but i suppose this is how this flower grows. the yellow center sits perfect among the white petals.

    Freelo59,

Thank you for the time and comments. The sage green leaves in the background, help the flower stand out. Similarly as the crumpled pedals help the central orange stamen part stand out as well.

Hi Lucien, this is such a gorgeous white petaled poppy, I love the crumpled texture of the white petals and that bright go,den/ yellow center! The flower is well placed in the frame, it's a good angle of shot . Well focused, this image is sharp and clear, exposure is correct, I see good crisp detail throughout the white petals. Well composed allowing a good sense of the shape and structure of this lovely flower. Well presented! Best wishes to you in this contest!

Yes this is a very lovely flower and captured with great detail. Delicate and lacey. It reminds me of a soft boiled egg. LOL
I can see how the petals can dance in the wind.
Very well captured. Best of luck in the contest.

Such an unusual flower! I'd like the know the dimensions. The crumpled petals are intriguing and you photographed them well, showing both texture and range of "color."

    Brown cat,

as I recall, it is about 3.5 to 4 inches across the pedals.

A perfect title for this beautiful flower. The petals have a soft elegant look that seems like crumpled paper as you say. The bold yellow center makes for a nice contrasting element.

As this is a contest entry photo I will mention that the upper right corner of the background is a bit bright and somewhat draws the attention away from that gorgeous flower. Not a big thing I just want this one to be as perfect as possible for the contest. Best of the best in the contest Lucien ~ Steve

    Steve,

I though about cropping it to try and remove that are but it did not give me what I wanted or saw in the lens.

Oh how beautiful. Is this a Poppy? The petals look like they are made of whipped cream. Beautiful portrait, stunning color, although exposure could have been increased a little or a shadow adjustment could have been made to brighten it up, but it is otherwise just so pretty to look at. Cropping/framing of subject matter is excellent, image is sharply focused, and it has great initial impact to the viewer. It makes me feel happy.

That's neat how the petals do indeed appear to imitate a napkin. I think the whole rugged texture that some things in nature have are an aesthetically pleasing thing to look at, especially when you photograph something as well as this subject, then refine the photo with great use of contrast and sharpness as is the case with this one. Thank you for sharing.
