Mary,
A beautiful picture of this Black Swan Cygnet coming back up after a bottom dive to get algae from the bed of the waterway on which the clear blue sky is reflected on the ripples water droplets like sparkling diamonds clinging to the feathers on it's neck. The light also catching the sparkle in it's eye. Beautiful composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus.

This is an very impressive close-up. I am impressed by the sharpness of detail and the realism of light sand color. I see water drops running down on the neck of the bird and on its beak. The reflections are enthralling. The stop-in-action is perfect. The cygnet seems searching the water surface and might found some food. The bird is excellently placed within the frame. The composition is balanced.

Light, bright and cropped tightly gives us a good look at this large bird. I love watching this graceful birds feed. Your wonder if their air supply is running out based on the amount of time they are under. The ripples on the water add movement for the scene.

Yes!
As I mentioned these creatures have what I think of as an 'Elasmosaurine' sort of a look!
( not that the giant sea-dwelling prehistoric Elasmosaurs were herbivorous,or even birds for that matter! : ) )
It's a fine looking Avian Portrait picture,Mary!

A very nice shot that shows this feeding behavior. I like the detail in the cygnet and the great color of the blue water with lily pads. How old would you estimate this cygnet to be?

Thanks Mike it is starting to get more black feathers so think it is closer to 3 months - the parents look after them for up to 9 months.

A grand looking action nature portrait presented here! Your fine and classical composition captures a wonderful action moment. With that gaping beak, your beautiful cygnet looks very hungry indeed! Exposure and sharpness are spot on. Well taken, great photo!

Very nice timing to capture this cygnet as it comes up from the water with bill opened. Well photographed with good focus, this image is sharp and clear, exposure is good, colors and tones appear natural, appreciate the clear eye complete with catch light! Well composed and presented!
