Yes and the longest is southend and even has a train on it,intersting view of this pier,i like the shere british feel of a pier and have recently been to Eastbourne on a short break and for some reason they shut it because of covid, why I don,t no ,why are some councils afraid, more so when visiting hastings just up the coast their pier was open...Brian

I like the triangular shapes this image creates. It's cool to see how the bridge seems to disappear into the horizon, leaving room for the imagination as to how long it really is. I like the overcast atmosphere, giving the image a unified color scheme that solidifies the colors together. The brown shadow under the bridge accents the dominantly blue photo, so that we have a great dual color scheme going on.

Your very kind and thoughtful review is appreciated! I need to point out though that this is not a bridge but a pier.

An interesting perspective. I like the way the railing of the pier is parallel to the horizon. Very nice detail in the structure with nice lights.

Great composition of this dramatic looong pier. The colors on the bridge railing matching some of the sky clouds are beautifully presented with wonderful details.

Nik,
A beautiful picture of the seemly endless Southport Pier stretching out from the shore to the horizon a visual lesson in perspective. The overcast sky reflected on the sea below. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

This bridge is indeed long. It seems infinitive. Your PoV is excellent. The diagonal view pleases the eyes of the viewers. Your photo is perfect focused and exposed. I appreciate the realism of color and light. The reflection are especially interesting. The photo is well composed and framed. The composition is balanced.

Very many thanks for your kind review! Could not enter it into a bridge competition because it?s a pier!

This is a wonderful shot of the pier. Great DOF! You have framed it well. The light and shadows, colours and the composition have worked out well. Good effort!

I love diagonal shots. The long shot allows the pier to disappear into the distance asking the question of how long is it? The full view of the structure allows us to see the construction that was built in the mid 1800's. That fact the bridge is still standing, this is a real testimony to the engineering. Light, bright and crisp shot.

Good shot of the Southport pier which as you know is a 3 minute drive from myself in Ainsdale.I have still yet to see the sea come up to the pier itself ! Your presentation has a good angle and perspective

Your driving pretty fast to get from Ainsdale to Southport in 3 minutes! Yes, the sea does there in winter.
