This is an impressive number of cygnets, but mom has them well trained and they are obedient. Your family photo is intriguing. I appreciate the realism of color and light. The swan family is well placed within the frame. The composition is balanced.

Thanks very much Cleo - yes Black Swans will lay between 3 and 9 eggs. The families we saw varied from 4 cygnets to this one with 7.

Hi Mary!
'Following the leader' is usually how a lot of trouble gets started but in the case of your enjoyable photo of this 'Family Squadron' of waterfowl heading out on patrol it also makes for a fine looking picture! : D

The saying of "having your ducks in a row" has new meaning. Terrific capture. The lighting is great and the kids are so cute. I appreciate the cropping as it confines our line of vision to the stars of this scene. The weed line is a nice touch of contrast.

A beautiful picture of this family of a Black Swan & it's seven Cygnets swimming behind it with two ducks in silhouette behind them all swimming on the water upon which the clear blue sky is reflected. Beautiful composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus.
