This is good but unfortunately it missed on one rule, needing to be black ink.
The other this is that there should have been some addition lines, shapes in the boat and in the lighting.
The sky and ocean are exactly what a Zentangle should be in my estimation. In the repeating shapes that creates a great visual flow there. I might have made the rain a little more interesting by having them evolve into droplets, like paisley like patterns,& then turning into the ocean, know what I mean?
I will not take off for the color used, but I will take off for the lack of shapes, textures in the boats hull and lighting bolts.
A good first attempt. I hope you enjoyed doing the drawing using this technique.
Thank you for entering and then allowing me to comment on your entry.
Have a good day, cheer!

A pretty good looking entry into the competition posted here! Your fine and traditional composition shows us that the conditions are pretty rough out there! Not sure that I understand your sky? Otherwise nicely drawn!

You doodle well. I too had to look up the word when I first encountered some of his work. I am not an artist but I might give this a try just for fun. Your doodling actually has some clarity and substance. Rough ride indeed but totally cool.

Brilliant 2 hour doodle. It's got character this and a story. So why not a story. I looked it up too. Looks more like patterns, very intricate patterns. Intensive concentration to achieve some of them but this is fresh. It has balance and it is intricate. Well done you.

Wow! This is a very creative work from a very creative sharpie artist specializing in frisky flowers! I love it. So much of detail and careful planning has gone into it and I don't thnk you should call it a doodle. Great composition!Well done! Good luck!

Love the story of the creation of this piece. It has a symmetry to it that is interesting. Just goes to show an artist can create without a lot of equipment. Sometimes basic is best anyway. I like the sails on the ship, that caught my attention right away. Good job. Good luck with the contest.

I am not a drawing artist but I can really see the the "fun" in your rendering. Such great detail and simplicity of subject makes this an enjoyable piece to look at. I imagine that it was great fun to do! Very nice.

I am yet to try this myself (unknown person :D ) but looking forward to giving it a go too. An interesting contest of which I wish you well. Also love that Lucien has created something different for us all to try.
I love what you have created here! I actually really like the use of the pink too. But the 'moving ocean' looks great, the curls representing the sky, really interestingly done. And really, really like it. :)
If you enjoyed the process, keep doing more! A wonderful style. :)
What a way to pass a 'waiting' time. ;)
Keep creating,
