Congratulations on your placement win in this contest. I contains many nice lines, a number of good curves. But it does have a little shading. Very nice work!

Glena,
Thank you. and for looking and reviewing this drawing.
On this drawing there actually is no shading, it is the density of the lines and variation that gives the illusion of shading.
have great day,
Cheers.

A beautiful image that is well composed and seems to capture the essence of the scene in a minimum of strokes. Best of luck in the contest.

I nearly skipped this but knowing I have seen some of your work .... here I am. Initially this for me needed securitization as it wasn't immediately recognisable as fir trees. I had pre read your notes and as I looked the images unfolded. I think it is very astutely done and shows your concentration for detail and your innovativeness to create without shading. I could see the thicker trunks in front of slimmer ones behind indicating depth. The sticks of small branches and the trunks are realistic. This was a good exercise. Good luck in the competition.

Once I read the narrative, your vision unveiled itself perfectly. The line drawing brings to life the dead dying trees. The grouping gives sum and substance to your drawing. You have a talent and thanks for sharing.

You captured the form and texture of the Pines perfectly with your simple lines. I am amazed how toy did that without shading. This is something I need to learn. You also archived an impressive perspective because the trees in the background are thinner and less sturdy than the Pines in the foreground.

I really like this drawing handling of the pencil and the shades of the grays are fantastic. The drawing itself is very well set up and very well positioned. You are a good artist keep it up.

Unfortunately the image looks blurred! Frankly I don't know how to critique on sketches. I like the spontaneity of the artist. Good luck in the contest!

Seshadri,
yes, you are correct, I have corrected for it with the help of the sight. The critique of a sketch is similar to a finished drawing. Does it show what the artist intended. In this case trees that look like they are dying.
Is the image clearer now?
Thank you.
