What a beauty of a shot excellent biological details right down to those fine antlers and legs. The markings have come out particularly well. I like the plain effect of the backdrop and stone. Overall a very nice capture

Your PoV allows us to study the markings at the wings and the body feature of the butterfly throughout. The strong cast shadow of the insect on the stone is especial interesting. The butterfly is perfect placed within the frame. The composition is balanced.

I have never seen a butterfly like this. Due to the lack of a typical tail I doubt that it is any kind of swallowtail, but it certainly is a beautiful specimen and a very fine shot. Best of luck in the contest.
