awesome picture. very nice image indeed and the details and colouring are lovely to. i was not aware of it being part of the jackal family. some U.S common names are a bit confusing such as the American Rabbit actually being a hare etc. he has a very dignified, english fox like face and the most beautiful coat.

Common names seem always a bit confusing. For example the Snowshoe Hare does not wer any shoes. :o)

This is a beautiful digital painting of this coyote! I love the way you painted the textures and colors. I also like the alert pose. Very nicely done!

Wonderful digital art painting of this coyote standing still, probably contemplating next move. We get these sometimes in our neighborhood, although not very often. Great colors and details with nice contrasting background bringing the coyote even more into the focus.

They crossed the mississippi some years ago..now there is no plenty down here in Florida. They do like small dogs and especially cats..they love cats.. this is very cool. The facial is great. The body form and language is excellent. The details is great. The shading is great. The blend of the colors is great. The depth is great. The creation is balance and eye appealing to the viewer. Creative and awesome work overall

My brother came across two of these in Canada recently as he walked along the road and cautiously took his video camera out as they stopped to stare him out before they made off in to the undergrowth without further ado..fortunately for my brother.A beautiful presentation of this majestic creature

Hi Cleo!
That's a great looking digitally created rendering of this creature,Interesting and very Enjoyable to look at!
It made me think of the rabid specimen that was stalking a popular hiking trail around here a few years ago which attacked ( and infected ) two people before Environmental Protection Agency personnel hunted it down and destroyed it!
( My niece-who's a superstitious sort -and a Sorceress- thought the beast might be a 'Skin Walker' but-since it didn't revert to a human form after it was brought down- I guess it wasn't! : ) )
Okay,enough of my babbling! : D
It's a really 'Good Show' of a picture,my friend!
~Sean

I agree with your niece. For all I learned about 'skin walkers' the hunt living people until they are brought down by Medicine Man.

I must admit that I do not even know how to refer to a digital painting, but this one sure is attractive. I like the colors and the fine detail in the coyote.

It is always nice to see when you have created something new, and this coyote is pictured so well. I especially like the all neutral background, and also how well you have brought out the textures of the fur.

Your brush work is s usual excellent, and I can also see that this is done paying a very good attention even to the smallest details.

Perhaps the framing is a bit too tight, but apart from this minor issue, this is indeed a lovely and well done digital painting Cleo.
