This photo is just perfection all through, and the pair of Monarchs are truly beautiful hanging on to the purple thistle bloom. The faded green background is truly lovely and the two butterflies are standing out from it in an excellent way.
The photo is pin sharp showing such clear and well defined details both in the thistle and the butterflies, and the exposure is spot on.
The format and framing is perfect, and in this case the centered position of the flower with butterflies is working really well. It is indeed a good balance in the composition. A truly beautiful and well taken photo with an excellent DOF, and I wish you luck with the contest.

Your close up is charming. That the Monarch face each other in almost the same poses looks stunning. Your photo is well focused and exposed and adequately treated with mixed media. I enjoy the realism of color and light and the sharpness of detail. The butterflies and the thistle are perfect placed within the frame. The composition is balanced.
