An intriguing shot. Not too often do you see them with a maple leaf in their beaks. A very sharp shot with nice detail in the face and beautiful colors.

I was wondering why he had a leaf,another great photo of one of your herons standing in what appears to be pretty deep water accented with fall leaves. Exposure and focus are excellent as well as the eye clarity. A beautiful Photo!

oh i know..what would be interesting on how he separated the leaf from the fish..lol. the clarity is great. the angle of the shot of this bird in water with leaf only showing in the beak is great. the capture of the light is great. the image is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. good eye and great job overall.

A beautiful stop action picture of the Grey Heron with a golden Sycamore leaf & a fish caught behind it held in it's long dagger shaped beak. more leaves seen floating just under the lake's surface, on which the trees & the sky are reflected on it's glistening surface. Beautiful composition framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.
