A great photo for the contest with this array of browns in this desolate looking photo. Great capture of the details and textures of these rocky formations towering over the lonely desert. The texture of the clouds adds a great deal of interest to the photo and contrasts nicely with the overall coloration of this scene. Best wishes to you in this contest,also!

Spot on for the contest,shades of brown it certainly is,slightly ott contrast but its added that rich looking blue sky in this which offsets the browness just enough for me,well taken and interesting landscape...Brian

A beautiful picture of the Butte & Needles in Monument Valley in Arizona under a mackerel sky with glimpses of blue seen in between the gaps in the clouds. Beautiful & dramatic composition, framing & natural lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

Those shades of brown are impressive. Apparently, the difference in color is caused by the mineral contents of the sand stone. Although, evening is near, light lingers in the high altitude of the monuments. Your photo is well focused and exposed and has good depth. The contradiction of the shades of brown with the sky is interesting. Your photo is well focused and exposed. The landscape is well composed and framed. The composition is balanced.
