There is so much to take in in this photograph. The coldness of the sky, the bare branches of the tree, and the resolute stare of this magnificent bird. You have captured so much with your picture. Mostly a very dramatic feeling. Love this.

I have had one Northern Flicker in my back yard, I an n to call fish and game to identify it instead of grabbing my camera to photograph it. They are truly beautiful birds , I love their speckled pattern and the red on head and cheek. This one is well focused, this image is clear, exposure is correct, the colors and tones appear natural. Well composed and presented !

This is an interesting bird composition. The focus, clarity and placement are good.
The bird perched upon the branch adds to the energy of a resting bird in its natural environment. This close-up shot shows the birds face and body in great detail.
The background does not over shadow the bird, but adds to complete the photo.
Nice shot.

Apparently, the bird found a good food source and a perfect hiding place in the tangle of branches.
Your photo is well focused and exposed and has good depth. I enjoy the realism of color and light and the refinement of detail. The bird is perfect placed within the frame. The composition is balanced.

A beautiful picture of the Northern Flicker with it's dark spotted breast & dark patch under it's chin with red flashes on it's cheeks & a long pointed beak, attempting to hide in among the branches. Beautiful composition framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.
