I am VERY fond of cats, so do like this for the subject matter itself. Beautiful cats all showing off as cats do. Yes, they are definitely watching us, their eyes fully opened, though that black cat at the back seems to be thinking, is it all worth it?

A great image that must be just what TS Eliot had in mind when he wrote "Cats". The colors are great and the eyes are perfect for this contest. Best of luck in the voting.

An interesting take on cats. Creative concept.
Imaginative presentation.
Impressive painting. Skilful composition: well-defined centre of interest perfectly framed to accentuate the eyes! Good luck!

I love the colors -- never mind the topic! The color of eyes is so perfect as well. That this is about cats just makes it more special! My admiration!

Wonderful idea and beautiful painting in watercolor that can be a challenge that you mastered it so well.
Great composition, beautiful colors that play with each other if let out of the painting. Vibrant colors and overall presentation is splendid.
Perfect contest entry and best luck.

This is a colorful composition. The focus and clarity of the cats is good. The intense look in their eyes create an energy of determination, maybe hungry? The attention to detail in the eyes of the individual cats is well done.
And, colors are complimentary.
Good work.

COOL,Brenda!
Being ,like,a long time Cat Person and also being an admirer of your always delightful artistic creations I'm really enjoying this,my friend!
It's wonderfully Out of the Ordinary ( as Real art should be in my opinion! ).it's strikingly colorful ( without going too far 'over the top' ),and I just plain Like It!
( I have Red Bubble.com handle all of my T-shirt and other garment work!
They do a good job working with my designs! )

This is a interesting group of cats. Their individual expressions interpret their characters. The black cat seems mischievous. That is probably the reason that she separated herself from the group. The vivid colors are pleasant. Although, the tall format is adequate, the framing seems to tight at the left, because parts of the cat there are cut off. Perhaps scratch a border onto the paper in the future before composing your artwork. You can always erase the lines after finishing your painting.

Hi, a really useful review and much appreciated. I use your tip when I am doing a more conventional trad. Art like a landscape. You mentioned my cramped renditions before so even tho I do a bit off the cuff stuff, I recognised that viewers and possible buyers would see it your way. An example of my 'framing is in Storm Tide. A result many love as I left the framing margin ad part of the whole. The cats are an abstract and it was meant that all of them had pieces missing. So you are extremely observant which I value, it was my intention this time. Lol

I take it you don't like cats?? Lolol .just teasing. Cool and colorful. The facials is good. The body forms and language is good. The blend of the colors is great. The shading is good. The creation itself is balance and eye appealing to the viewer. Why don't you try out either sharpie or Bic pens. They have richer colors than watercolors. Creative and great job overall

Well I think cats are crazy and used to have 3 but became allergic. I am working lots in Sharpe and Bic and love them. I got this quite expensive set of water colours for Christmas last year from my daughter so was looking to use them up. Lol.. thanks for a great review.

A very good looking image posted here into the competition. Your fine and innovative composition offers us lots of lovely eyes to consider. Did you have cats in the room when you were painting this? Wonder why the black cat at the back has such substantially different eyes to the others? Well painted and good luck!
