This is very pretty, love the colours of the background and the red, sometimes the name gives these flowers a bad name, opium, lol,, I love poppies in general, they are pretty and come is variety of colours, the placement and details of your art work is very nice

Lise,
thanks a million for your complementary review on these Red Poppies that I could have called Oriental.
The flowers are beautiful it's only when the green seed pods get into the wrong hands that the Opium is produced ( that also leads to Heroin, Morphine & Codeine that are valuable pain killers in the RIGHT hands used with caution in Hospitals)

I did not know about codeine part, thats why I say Im alergic so they dont give me that as a pain killer cause its way too strong for me

Can't say much about something I now nothing about. Unless I'm mistaken, poppy is where cocaine comes from. Are you trying to make a statement here, or was this just a random subject. It seems like you prefer photography over art. I can appreciate the effort, but I'm a fan of photo realism in art, and watercolor is not the easiest medium to work with. Overall nice effort. God bless!

Zeith,
Opium Poppies are the source of Opium, Heroin, Morphine & Codeine( the drug is found in the seed pods) NOT Cocaine (Which comes from the Coca Leaves in Peru) in the wrong hands....for most people these Poppies are just beautiful flowers. Thanks for your review.

Many years ago I visited Holland. Poppies were all over the place. They were even in the median of the road. They were this bright color of red. I like the light touch you used with the watercolors. Great job!

Think I have just reviewed a similar image! Either you or me have been too close to those gorgeous blooms. Like your composition and the delicacy of it. Nicely painted!

Your painting is intriguing. I like the simplicity of your composition. That you show flowers, seed pots, and buds in different stages of opening is interesting. The limitation of color is appealing. The tall format emphasizes the grow of the flowers perfectly. The painting is well composed and framed. The composition is balanced.

Fred,
Merci beaucoup mille fois for your complementary review on this picture of the Poppies. I had forgotten I'd painted them until I fund the scanned copy in my archives.
