Steve, this is an interesting landscape! You captured dramatic clouds with contrast pool, reflecting blue ski. The Geyser Basin looks awesome! I see a possible winner of the contest here. Great job on erased distractions, and adding filters. Thanks for sharing your memory with us! You stay stay and healthy, too.

I have watched so much Yellowstone on the television that I recognised it as soon as I saw it. Yellowstone is on the television almost everyday on one channel or another. I often watch Smithsonian, as well as the Nature programs, which has familiarised me with the place. What a sky!

Thank you so much Renate-Bertodi. Yellowstone is my favorite placebo visit. I grew up 90 miles from the park and spent many days there growing up. I hope to go back sometime this summer ~ Steve

Wow, BFF.. your pieces are always so fantastic (and not enough sixes) but this one is the best I've seen by far!

The colors, scenic view are all so stunning and superb!

Excellent camera techs used.... A winner in any contest... if I had anything to say about it :)

Quite a good image posted here! Reminds me of various scenes when I was there back in 2014. Your fine and classical composition offers us a convincing view of your striking location. Exposure and sharpness are good. Nicely taken!

A beautiful scene that is very nicely composed. I like the bank of clouds and the fantastic colors in the water. The steam vents in the background are great too.

Oh yes, there is beauty in desolation, but it comes from within and is only seen when the contrast appears to magnify it....
Don't you agree.? What we cannot see, is where beauty comes from...and of course this wonderful entry for the contest.
Although I've never been there,
I'd love to see this....
Best wishes in the contest.

Thank you so much VO for your philosophical and poetic review and commentary. And yes you are right about beauty. So enigmatic, shy and fleeting. Thank you for your Very Generous rating VO ~ FS

Actually I was referring to the thermophiles, being microscopic and all....but your view is interesting too....I?ll be more clear and direct the next time.

This capture is exquisite. The colors created by the Thermophyles are stunning. The contradiction of those colors with the barren landscape is striking. The depth of your capture is impressive. Your photo is excellent focused, exposed and treated with mixed media. The landscape is well composed and framed. The composition is balanced.

This is beautiful, the sky is such a deep blue and the clouds reaching across horizontally feel powerful, the desolate land looks all dried out and without much color but makes such a perfect backdrop for the amazing colors within the pool.
The sky draws attention to the pool . This is well photographed from a good angle of shot, the scene is well focused, it's clear to view, exposure is correct, the colors and tones appear natural. It's a breathtaking scene as presented! Very best wishes to you in this contest!

Thank you so very much Pat for your wonderfully artistic and detailed review and commentary. For me this scene was almost more than I could take in. Any words used to describe fall short. One can only become 'One with' when viewing a scene such as this.

Thank you so much for your Generous rating Pat. I am honored ~ Steve

It is no doubt that this is an impressive looking landscape, and you have pictured it so well. I especially like your point of view showing off such a wide range of this area with hot pools and fantastic colors . The dramatic looking scene is emphasized by the hot steams in the background. I have to add that the dramatic looking clouds look great.

The photo is of course also sharp showing truly clear and well defined details in every part of the landscape, and the exposure is very good. I also appreciate the nice and natural colors.

The cropping is well done, and I think it is a very good balance in the composition. I think this is a truly great looking and well taken photo Steve, and with an excellent DOF. I wish you luck with the contest.

What a wonderful photograph of the Yellowstone Geysers with beautiful colors and so nicely framed witch white clouds.
The unusual orange color is not present at all the time, at least not so vividly - great place to be at the right time. Great work to capture the beauty.

Thank you Jirina. Yes the reds are a deeper color in this due to the temperature of the water. It is a bit cooler there than in the blue portion. The temperature must have been optimal for the thermophiles t produce such a vivid color. Thank you for your grand review ~ Steve
