what is the red stuff in the water? Sulphur? the clarity is great. the capture of the light is great. the angle of the shot of the terrain, pond and sky view is great. the image is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. good eye and great job overall.

Thanks Mark. Actually the red color is caused by thermophiles, heat loving micro-organisms. Each species lives in a different temperature of water. The blue indicated that the water is hotter. The red means the water is cooler (relatively). Thanks for the great review ~ Steve

Hi Steve!
'Good Show',my friend!
I'm finding the scene to be more INTERESTING than BEAUTIFUL but that stuff is said to be 'in the eye of the beholder' anyway and,as you know, this particular ;beholder' sees things quite differently than others do!
: )
It's a pleasingly Different scene and I like it!
~Sean

this is such a beautiful picture and very lovely in all ways. this place is pretty much unique and the power that lies underground, makes it possibly the worlds most dangerous place. the colours captured are amazing to.

    Hey MJ,

Yes Yellowstone is one Huge caldera. One day, in a million years or so, it will blow. It will be one of the most cataclysmic events in the history of the earth. Glad we won't be around. Wow now it is one fascinating place to visit.
