A blue medal for this elegant avian cutie!
I've been scanning your portfolio for a long time before catching this!

My favorite color of all 50 shades of blue...
Nice placement of this candid shot...
Distinct subject against a simple lighter background...
Impressive still.motion capture!

Well framed!

Excellent everything, including the composition and presentation. I like the sky and clouds on the background. It looks like painting. Great profile of Jay appear as a dark shiloett and still has some visible details. Sorry for being out of sixes to award this one as it deserved!

This is a lovely captured image. Great detail. I love his expression. He seems to be saying "yes I am a cutie. I need peanuts please"
This presents as a painting. I love the soft background. Really presented beautifully.

I have to ask you Pat, are those light patches above his beak his eyes? I presume they are but never having seen one, I am not sure. Is your home in a raised area with forests? They usually live in forests. They can be found in hills and small mountain and on rare occasions to as high as the tree line. Steller's jays are common in residential and agricultural areas with nearby forests. Not stupid, they know where the food is!!

Thank you so much! The blue spots are his eyebrows, there is forest area on the outside of my neighborhood, I also have a lot of evergreen trees on my property.

Love the pose as he patiently waits for the treat - color is excellent against the mottled skyline. Good composition which is well balanced. Focus is sharp.

Oh I know, those Jay's are intelligent and fearless of humans. I can see that the bird is waiting for its treat. Your photo is well focused and exposed and has good depth. I appreciate the realism of color and light and the refinement of detail. The bird is well placed within the frame. The composition is balanced.
