This is a nice Winter composition. The chill is definitely in the air. And, you captured it here. Good focus and clarity.
The lovely gold of the sunset lights up the area bringing attention to the landscape below and the dogs playing.
Nice shot.

this must have been an amazing sight, with those frosty pinks covering everything. Like the dogs there, snouts in the snow. I am not sure if Alaska follows the rule about red skies and high pressure coming in? It is so much a place of its own rules! The proverb about red skies even appears in the Bible!

    Thank you so much for your comments and review! Yes, usually a red sky at night will bring a storm at least for part of the following day.

brrrrrrrr..makes me feel cold looking at it...lol. the clarity is great. the angle of the shot of this wintry scene, dogs playing and colorful skyview is great. the capture of the light is great. the image is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. good eye and great job overall.

I like it, too! Nicely done Pat. I see your dogs on the frozen lake, they add an interest to the scene, make it alive. Fabulous contrast of warm and cold colors!

a beautiful winter scene taken close to sunset; certainly not my kind of prefered weather: good composition with Kaiser and another dog having fun on the frozen lake;

A super shot of the winter scape showing the frozen lake and the dogs! You have timed it well with the setting sun. The light and shadows, colours and, composition have worked out well. Good effort!

Certainly winter scene,and the dogs add a bit of interest in this one,think though pat would have preferred the dogs to bit more prominent in this view but still showing an overall view.

Pat,
A beautiful picture of two of your dogs enjoying the scents left by others on the snow covered frozen lake framed by the tree covered hill on the left & the snow covered trees in silhouette growing along the shore line set against the golden hues given by the setting sun to the sky above. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

Beautiful capture of the sunset clouds and hues Pat on a cold and frosty afternoon. Your dogs don't seem to mind the cold? Lovely outlook with part of the mountain and trees on the horizon. A beautiful winter's setting and composition. Thanks for sharing Pat.

The colors on your side of the world are so different - I love the subtle colors and reflections. The dogs look like they are enjoying their space. Amazing that you have sunsets so early. Nice to view.
