Great job winning the contest. I voted for you as this photo truly touched me. This picture is so common all around us. It breaks my heart to see all of the suffering. I love how you used the black and white to contrast the color of the bottle. Nice work!

Thank you so much Renon. Yes this is an all too common sight. This was taken a couple of weeks ago in Ajijic, Mexico. Same problems and suffering the world over. Thank you again ~ Steve

Steve, this shot is the vinner! It has my vote, by the way. The composition is perfect! But back to the reality of life... sadly, this person is truly down and out. Brilliant idea to change the photo to black and white image because he is unable to see the true joy and purpose of colorfull human life. He is a slave of alcohol, maybe drugs or some other addiction that prevents him to enjoy a normal life. His purpose for a day to get enough money for a drink ð??¸. Poor person! He doesn't know the true light from the above, which can make him free. The truth is they don't want to be healed or changed ð??? back to normal, to have a family, to work and enjoy other things they are missing... feel sorry for them. Your post gave me mixed feelings and thoughts.

Everything you said in your review is exactly right. It is always a tough thing to see and is a reminder that We are responsible for our lives. We are where we are because of the decisions we have made. Many people do not realize that and blame everyone and everything except themselves for their current state in life.

A very familiar picture here too, except that here it rains for months at a time, in the cold. I try always to keep chocolate biscuits in my shopping bag to give to homeless. My son warned me not to give money, as some spend it on drugs. I have found that most of the homeless appreciate chocolate Kit kats etc
