I like the black background here. The colors of the beads and masks just pop. I have a small collection of masks like these from Italy.

Wonderful mixed media creative presentation of the mask ready to be used in the Mardi grass celebration where the colorful necklaces are as a staple, not only in New Orleans but where people chose to celebrate the tradition.
I bought my first mask in Venice, where people were it to a dance balls. It looks similar but yours has such interesting addition of the lace. The intricate details are beautifully showing against the black background.
Overall creative, nicely done and festive presentation.

Wonderful mixed media creative presentation of the mask ready to be used in the Mardi grass celebration where the colorful necklaces are as a staple, not only in New Orleans but where people chose to celebrate the tradition.
I bought my first mask in Venice, where people were it to a dance balls. It looks similar but yours has such interesting addition of the lace. The intricate details are beautifully showing against the black background.
Overall creative, nicely done and festive presentation.

This is interesting and a little haunting from the expression. I think the beads are a little too big. I wish there was more of an emphasis on the mask/face. Well nice job though.

Hi kmoss, I think your right about the beads. They should have been smaller and the mask a little larger. If I had done it that way the all the work I did on the mask might have shown up a little better. Thanks for letting me know where you thought I needed to work on this. Great image here Nancy. The mask with the frills is very elegant and classy. I have been to Mardi Gras and collected many beads. The most elegant and common beads were gold with a high sheen. Those kinds of beads would look really great with the gold mask and frills.

Hi Steve, Darn, I wish knew a little bit more about the right color of beads to use. I love the thought of high sheen gold beads. They definitely would have looked pretty with this. The all black background is perfect, and the text has got a very good placement. I do however think the pink and blue pearls is taking too much attention away from the rest. I would have made them smaller and used golden and turquoise colors instead. The pearls are in a sort away ruining the otherwise elegant look of this creation.
I can see that the original photo was sharp and well exposed, and I like the little detail with diamonds as eyes.
The format and framing is fine, and the mask has got a fine placement off to the left. All together a lovely and well done mixed media photo, even if I have some comments.
