I also love dahlias! They are great in the garden and behind the camera. Your clarity of focus is great on this image. Well done. I see that the image has been recognized in the past. Congratulations for that. I have a suggestion for your consideration. I feel that the image needs greater value differences to increase depth. This image is almost entirely middle value without the lights or darks that would give the image drama and depth. This is even more important when the color palette is this refined. I do hope this is helpful. It is given with good intentions.

Love dahlia flowers - was planning on going to gardens this weekend but it is going to be in the mid 40's. The color of this one is like sunshine and really stands out against the darker background Focus is sharp and your composition is beautifully done.

I love the somewhat subdued yellow tones in your pretty flower photo! The details are clear and concise offering a great view of the details in the petals of the dahlia. The dark background really sends the yellow tones popping! Nicely done!

I fully agree with you, and you have pictured these two beauties so well. I especially like the brown hues of the background, and when nicely softened like this, the yellow Dahlia flowers are standing out in an excellent way.
The photo is very sharp and it is indeed clear and well defined details to be seen in the petals of the flower. The exposure is just spot on.
I also like the format you have cropped the photo into and the placement of the flowers within the frame. A truly lovely and well taken photo Pat, and with an excellent DOF.
