those are beech trees to the right. What did the earthquake do to the area, did it leave a big hole or just turn everything over. It was a very famous earthquake. It was a 9.2 scale and ground fissures, collapsing structures, and tsunamis resulting from it.

Thank you so much! Basically the houses slid off their foundations as the ground fell out from under them.

Shame about the earthquake but returning it to nature has worked making a beautiful place for you to explore. Love the composition and the focus and dof are all great. White balance and exposure handled perfectly. :)

Very beautiful the white snow covering in this scene. Natural coloring and great details shown on the branches. Looks like an awesome trail to go on! Great capture.

This is a beautiful capture. The landscape looks inviting even in winter. Walking in those woods seems to be pleasant even in winter. How the snow clings to trees is interesting. Your photo is perfect focused and exposed and has good depth. I enjoy the realism of color and light and the refinement of detail. The landscape is excellent composed and framed. The composition is balanced.

Such a magical winter scene Pat! Gorgeous contrast of snow covered winter trees against the blue sky. Love the winding snow covered path leading into the unknown. Your image is clear and focussed
and beautifully composed. A pleasure to view.

This is a perfect winter scene! The ice crystals and snow blanket is a view straight from a Christmas card. I love this one!!! I like the tree-lined paths also. Very nice job.

This winter scenery looks really cold to me. The path into the park seems like you can skate on it. Greta details and colors in the whole presentation. The light blue sky could be misleading (but true) yet they frame this beautiful photograph so nicely. I hope it gets warmer soon.
