a great entry to the macro contest with this true macro of a green fly; some areas are indeed very sharp; for such pics you need of course a true macro lens closing to 16 or better 22 in order to get a sharp overall image;

Thanks for the review. This is a true 1:1 macro lens. Field of view is always paper thin at this extreme, as with a 1/4 inch insect. Conditions would not allow for an extremely narrow aperture, so perfect focus on the eyes was my goal. Your input is appreciated! 🙂

This is an intriguing macro. The tiny fly looks like an alien monster. Your photo is well focused and exposed and has good depth. I appreciate the realism of color and light and the refinement of detail. How the light reflect on the body and the eye is interesting. The fly is excellent placed within the frame. The composition is balanced.
