Nik,
A beautiful picture of these row upon row of Military Tombstones in Arlington, Virginia, the cemetery in which President Kennedy also lies on which a "candle" burns for ever that I saw on my visit there! The row upon row of white Military Headstones are framed by the trees in full leaf under the clear blue sky. Artistic composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus.

This is an interesting and good looking shot of Arlington cemetery. I love the tilt of the landscape with the pretty green trees and blue clouded sky, it looks a lot like when I visited 10 years ago. This is a comforting scene for many Veterans who so honor those who have given. Greatly focused and realistic. Nicely done.

Nice presentation of this famous Arlington cemetery that is one of the national monuments; great details and the combination of white stones and green grass and trees is such a clean presentation.

Easy to explain! I meant to post another shot from the same location but was distracted by wife for a while. Then when I went back to my computer I uploaded the wrong phot!

yes, but takes a lot of space. So very American. Did you know that there was a huge lake dividing America before it dried out, what are now the great plains. I can't help but wonder if they had those lakes still, and less land if they would allow themselves so much space. For myself, I do not go to old cemetries or Concentration camps- the foreign students asked me when I was at Leipzig Uni, I refused. I don't think they should be kept, as it gives too many of the baddies of the present time, ideas to build more evil from and do not kid yourself that they are not about us. St barths Human Research is one such- first thing the evil bb in charge said: we could show Hitler how to do it without getting caught!! That was her and her merry men's starting point.

anyway- I would bury them in their home towns, so the people who knew them could give homage and erect some sort of wall with all the names for public inspection..when I was living in New Zealand, they had this huge wall at the back of a museum. If they addes something like, you can read them with a spy glass or such, kids would take an interest to use the spy glass, otherwise they just don't care..

Nik you posted this exact same photograph in February which I reviewed then - guess it is easy to duplicate images I know I have had to check my portfolio a few times to make sure it hasn't been posted previously.

A very nice shot. The row upon row of headstones gives it a solemn look despite the beautiful look of the trees and the great spring colors.

Sad? No as a veteran I felt like I was on sacred ground when I had visited there. This is the one place in DC that is clean and you won't find one bit of paper on the ground. Did you visit the unknown soldier memorial? It's worth it. Wink. The clarity is great nthe capture the light is great. the angle of the shot of this sacred land is great. The image is balance and eye appealing to the viewer. Good eye and great job overall

Very many thanks for your detailed review. I cannot remember if I visited the memorial. I respect your views and thoughts as a veteran. Where did you serve? Asking as a Brit.

2 Battalion 1st Field Artillery Air mobile..based at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. That unit is a light artillery that supports the airborne units. I'm proud to say I served in the oldest artillery unit in the US. It was established in 1775. Over 200 yrs of history on that unit..spent 6 yrs with that unit..wink
