What a beautiful art work of a child's face, The expression and the look on his eyes got something that even stuck my eyes. I immediately clicked on the pic to learn more. Beautifully drawn and details are so touching. I am surprised to see the kind of expressions being portrayed here. It is just too good to be true.

Your drawing is stunning. Imagine the look on a child's face and then drawing it when they hear for the first time. You've accomplished that here. Good job

Those eyes show indeed the emotions. The child seems surprised and a bit frightened. The viewer is emotionally touched. I try to imagine how it is to live in a soundless world, never hear birdsong or the songs of wind and water or enjoy a concert. Your drawing is well composed and rendered. Your pencil strokes show your experience with your tools and materials. The blue-wash catches the eyes of the viewers. The tight framing is sufficient. The drawing is well composed and framed.

Thank you your comments touched me. I had a friend who had appendicitis when she was 8 month pregnant. The baby went full term but she was nearly 2 when they proved she was 100% deaf I remember my friend saying there was something not right and it took them 18 months to start testing. That was many years ago. I remember the time so well and often think about the family who moved away to be near a school for hearing impairment.

This is a compelling portrait.
The child seems confused and in shock. You portrayed the feelings very well. The facial features are well done especially the details of the eyes conveying extreme emotions. It is amazing to view. Good focus, technique
and tone throughout.
Well done work of art.

Thank you very much for your review, it means a lot that you saw the emotion. It must be very harrowing the first time but how wonderful that they can bring sound to some.

This wonderful painting is definitely full of emotions and beautifully presented this the touch of mixed media. The expression on this child face is filled with surprise, almost a trauma by discovering a new sense that he or she was not aware of or could not use it.
Nice work!

Wow Brenda! This is incredible to see ! You have created this beautiful child who is actually hearing for the first time so very well, well shaped face , excellent show of the facial structure of the young child, well rendered facial features that are proportionate to his face, the eyes are fantastic to show his emotion , they bring him to life, I love the hair and the way you show the texture and shine. I see the small device used to make this miracle in his left ear. Very realistic detail. I like the blue hue too. This is impressive! Very well presented! Very best wishes to you in this contest!
