Sorry to here about your grandpa and dimentia is a cruel disease for sure,and has been made much worse during the covid crisis.
Back to photo although its a good one,1 i feel its a tad to dark[maybe you intended that] and 2 i think because war was the w in the contest,strictly speaking i think you were stretching the contest to far[and maybe thats why the vote is only one so far]think a black/white contest would have bought more votes for this because it does provoke a responce on it...Brian

A very moving image showing the distress the man is going through - I truly hope he is getting the medical help he needs - the black and white treatment brings more emotion to the image. Well presented and interesting story. I think all people know someone or have a relative that have gone through this terrible disease it is heartbreaking for those impacted.

Great subject and a great story. Too many veterans do not get proper treatment for the suffering they experience during their service. Good composition, framing, focus and dof. Thanks for sharing. Sending good wishes for your grandpa.

This is quite the picture, it stood our right away. My grandpa, dad, myself and both of my sons served. Fortunately none of us suffered with dementia, however, my mom did. Anyway, I love the black and white photo, it's striking.

This is a gritty and heart-breaking photo. I see strength as well as anguish and pain. It is nice how you have applied a desaturate or lightness around one eye, it makes this photo special with the darkness on the rest of his face. Thoughtful and moving. Nicely done.
