Pat, A very beautiful picture of the Hoverfly sucking nectar from the pink Straw Paper flower with it's pollen laded stamens ripening in the centre where the Hoverfly is resting. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques.
When I was a child in the 1940/50 it was not unusual to seen wreaths made of these "Everlasting" flowers on Graves (Before the now common Plastic flower wreath)

The hover bee shows perfectly. I am not a fan of insects but they are necessary and they are beautiful with their intricate designs and colors.

I think straw paper flowers look truly lovely, and this one also looks very delicate with the pale pink petals. I also like the almost heart shaped center framed by golden stamens, and the placement of the hover fly within. The close and personal approach is perfect.
The photo is sharp and it is clear and well defined details to be seen both in the petals of the flower and the insect. The exposure is spot on.
The tight cropping is working well and the flower and the hover fly are well placed within the frame. I think this is a truly lovely and well taken photo Pat, and with an excellent DOF.
