Oh, I love that photo. Speaks america to me, all types and all styles. I knew some Ukrainian Mennonites from Canada years ago. Why do they collide with your culture. I thought they were strict - similar to myself, only absolutely true to the Bible? I am interested.

I think our culture collides with us. When I go to there farms to buy plants, maple syrop or eggs, the kids stare at us like we are from another planet. lol,, I respect their belief, I love their religion, I couldnt live like them though, couldnt not have hydro in a house, or do gardening in a dress for example

please forgive me, but I found, in the short time I lived in America, and it was not in a rich area, that what you call normal in America is the height of luxury to us.I was quite amazed, and I amazed my neighbours. Ofcourse as soon as I got there, pulled a line across two trees to hang out my washing, everyone came out and stared. Why would I use a dryer? is this beautiful climate the arctic. Sun hottest, you close the curtains, then in the evening, you open the window. I always walked to the shops and church. Why is she so slim at her age? the ladies asked, hopping into their cars, though I did appreciate a nice lady giving me a lift with a second hand tv from the charity shop! The second hand shop always delivered as most shops did. America is a lovely, beautiful country, full of delightful people and places but so luxury bound, I fear for it and found it quite amazing!! People spend loads of time ''going shopping'', walking round huge shops instead of walking in their beautiful environment!!!! if they are even aware of it, so much so that I had the feeling, that what is so little treasured could easily be taken away from them!

The mennonites where i grew up at drove pickups with no radios in them. They were awesome carpenters but they didnt believe in tv or radio. The women wore long dresses and hair in buns with netting. These folks in the image still sticks to the old traditional ways. Good capture. The clarity is great. The angle of shot of this horse and buggy with driver is great. The capture of the light is great. The image is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. Good eye and great job overall

Yes, we have two different sects, the old ones wear only black and white clothes, straw hats and have no hydro or use cars, just the buggy and horse, and then there are others who dress lighter colours, the woman can run businesses they have cars, and phones, landlines to run the businesses, and cars have music, like tapes lol

A good looking and interesting image posted here! Your fine and appropriate composition offers us a good view of the clash you refer to. I cannot believe though that it is a serious problem? Exposure and sharpness are fine. Nicely done!

Nope, not a problem for the people living in this area, I saw a horse and buggy drive in town and boy that horse was flying down the street, and didnt mind the cars on the road, thats what I call good training
