Gorgeous capture and beautiful butterfly. The smell of honeysuckle is so strong that many insects get attracted. I like the angle of the shot and it gives very clear view of butterfly. The shot is sharp and with great focus. The color and texture of butterfly appear very natural and eye catching. Great work.

It may be a common butterfly where you live, but nothing common about this excellent shot.

The colors are what I noticed first. Delicate yellows and greens.

Your display is just wonderful.

Common or not, definitely not a "common" photo! Great natural colors and lighting. Good contrast with the distant greenery in the background. The image could be just a bit more in focus on the butterfly's wings and body. I will "credit" the lack of apparent sharpness to the FAR resizing standard... ;)

an excellent close up Pat of this tiger swallowtail butterfly, always very impressive because of his size in comparison to the tiny white flowers;

I like this Pat its different. At first, the bottom right I saw as too blurry, it distracted me and I had to concentrate on the butterfly area to get my feel of the take. I enlarged your take on screen and cropped it out to the top right flower. This for me visually was better. I had cataracts done recently and was not sure about the faded area being their fault. I was able to really enjoy the details that were left. The butterfly, as a good focal point is beautiful and the markings clear. The honeysuckle tiny flower heads show excellent detail, also, is one of my favourite climbers.

Great photograph of this swallowtail butterfly taking nectar from these white blooms on the honeysuckle tree.

The contrasting colors and diffused green background are creating beautiful presentation!

Pat,
A beautiful stop action picture of this Canadian Tiger Swallowtail ~ Papilio canadensis Rothschild sucking nectar from the white blossoms. The light shining on it's wings highlighting it's beautifully coloured & patterned wings. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.
(I looked it up to get the name that I did not know)
Susan
