This is an interesting sculpture. Really nice how the light is shinning on one side of George Washington's face. And, the difference of the other side that is shaded showing the texture. Great details. And, the blue sky adds nicely to the scene.
Good perspective, focus and clarity. Best in the contest!

Excellent use of lighting from the side, creating a nice contrast between the dark and sunlit side. Possibly could have cropped out a little more of the dark rock on the left to force the viewer's focus onto the main subject. Also, not sure this a "portrait" but FAR does not always offer a clear choice into which category a photo should be placed.

A nicely captured image for the contest and an unusual entry! Your picture has great focus and nice details of this part of the statue, some of the marking on the rocks are amazing! Well done and best wishes!

I would imagine this president often felt he was 'on his own'. Great idea for a capture! Your focus is excellent. Color tones true to nature. Pleasing composition. Good luck in the contest.

a very special picture as the close up shows us so many details and two sides of the same face, one seems to be the old life with all kind of horrors, and the other side radiates a total perfect light being, which is our new world future beginning now - excellent sharpness, wonderful angel and perfect contrast, well done

How they have created these huge sculptures all over the world have always intrigued me as I carve wood but a couple of feet in height. I imagined mural painters and ladders climbing all over the site. The other week it showed you this lone man carving the corner of a huge rock in USA. It was fascinating- fantastically placed photo.

A fine idea for a shot. Not too often you see these presidents isolated like this. Nice detail in the sculpture and beautiful colors. Best of luck in the contest.

The focus on washing is this picture is really neat. I love how you can see all the detail not only in his face but on the rock as well. I really like the sky above it make the picture pop

This is a great contender for the Something Old from the Past Contest. A unique choice as your entry.Nicely framed and presented.
Good focus. A nice blue sky emphasizes the white craved stone. Best of luck in the contest!
