I've always found equine and equine-like creatures to be very difficult subjects to draw so I'm really enjoying this fine looking portrait sketch of a Zebra that you've presented us with here! : )

I like the simplicity of your composition. Its just the face, but each stripe is drawn with care. We even see short single hairs. The soulful eyes wit the long eye lashes are especial impressive. Your artwork is well drawn. Proportions and perspective are correct. The tight framing is adequate. The composition is balanced.

Again, thank you for your constructive and succinct comments. I started a thank you several times. This is an honor from such a gifted artist. I should have added more beyond his head, would have now, but then as a teen, I stopped short. Your input and help means a lot.

Its is a vey good entry and interesting to read it is an earlier sketch very well done. The head of the zebra looks in good proportion and shows muscle structure. Nice markings and angle.

The proportions on this are good. I think he seems a little cramped on the page. Filling in a bit more of his neck, would make him seem more finished.
His mane looks soft to the touch and the shading around his nose adds a nice emphasis to his features.
