I have a fondness for black and white photography. It seems most use it here to cover a sin of over saturated/exposed colors. I remember always buying black and white film when I was a teenager.
I think when used correctly can evoke more.
I like your use of light and shadows here.
You have sharp focus, fine contrast and a great POV that draws us in.

This scene is well suited to the black and white rendering, it shows clearly that the two men are working with the logs and unaware of your camera.
Well focused, this image is sharp and clear, well brought out textures , especially in the logs.
Exposure is correct, there are good tonal variations throughout this image.
Well composed and presented!
