What dazzles the eyes here is the extreme colors.. and so gorgeous!
Not truly in focus, but who cares! the fact that these two Glow Globes really do glow!

This shot of a Blue Glow Globe Thistle is truly amazing! I enjoy this one as much as your friend did. Tremendous depth, excellent composition, amazing colors. Deserves to be moved into all time best category. Sorry for not having any sixes for it.

These blue thistles look truly lovely, and the remind me a bit of alliums. I especially like the selective focus on the pretty blooms which has come out, and also how well the thistles are standing out from the softened background.
The focus is spot on and sharp showing truly clear and well defined details in the blooms, and the exposure is perfect.
The photo is nicely cropped and the main flower has got a fine placement off to the right, balanced by the soft one on the left. I think this is a lovely and well taken photo Jodi, and with an excellent DOF.

Love this image of the purple thistle. Your composition is excellent with the larger bloom top focused sharply with blurring of the background. Color is most unusual and stands out well against the green.
