Play with them, find out what they do and practice! You'll be amazed at what you learn and the fun you can have! I learned to do this by trial and error! Experiment and have fun! This mixed media creation is gorgeous. The flower glows indeed like a comet or perhaps like an alien spaceship in the dark night sky. Your photo is perfect focused and treated adequately with mixed media. I enjoy the vibrancy of color and light and the refinement of detail. The mixed media is well composed. The flower is excellent placed within the frame. The composition is balanced.

I love the transparency and the beautiful colors of the flower. The black background really makes the flower pop. The only thing I would change is the composition, because the flower is so centered. Best of luck!
