It will be interesting to see the photo. I can definitely see the elements in the picture. Pebbles, rock water, reflection. The orange adds to the interest. I feel it could use a little more realism. Keep it up.

thanks for your remarks, not sure what realism means
reply by BarbaraKeener on 19-Aug-2021
Realism means looking more real, lifelike, more like the real thing.

Did you see the real photo? I thought It was pretty good, of course it is not a like exact copy, art is an interpretation of the real thing, and of course if the person that took the photo likes it, then I did my job
reply by BarbaraKeener on 21-Aug-2021
I did not see the real photo. And your are correct, art is an interpretation. Yes, I?d they like it, you did your job. When I put my art on here, I like constructive thoughts that might help me improve. That is all I was trying to do. You are free to ignore what a person says if it doesn?t apply.

lol, Bob Ross said that if you are totally satisfied with any art you do and there is no room for improvement but, I do find I have more work to do and he also said to learn when to quit on a piece so you dont totally mess it up, I did find your criticism a little harsh, and once in awhile there are some people that just cant see what I see, all is good
reply by BarbaraKeener on 31-Aug-2021
Sorry for the harsh sound. Bob Ross has good advice.

My eye saw the mountains first, then the delicate blue in the foreground. You have balanced your cool and warm colors. Peaceful to look at without making you feel cold.

I remember this scene as presented by Pat. A nice, but somewhat simplistic, version with attractive composition and beautiful colors. Best of luck in the contest.

thanks, I had a lot of trouble with the weeds in the water, sometimes I have to quit before it gets out of hand,

Hi Lise! This is a beautiful rendition of the Glacier Lake! I like the sky with the bit of blue showing through from behind the silvery white clouds, the mountains in the back and the glacier at the foothills of the mountains, well shown rock and it's reflection and the fireweed growing right up from the water.
Well created, arranged and presented! I am honored that you chose to paint this! Best wishes to you in this contest!

Thanks so much for giving me permission for this, I really enjoyed doing it, and feel more confident in doing landscapes

You have done a fine job with painting the beautiful scene. However, it would be a lot nicer if the flowers in front were more realistic and the house, if that is what it is, more straight, etc. You are a great photographer, but I don't like this style as some of your other work. I do like the water, specifically in places and you did a wonderful job with the sky. Is that an abstract or black/dark mountain?

oh dear lord, really?,, I did it from a photo, what I saw I interpreted, Mountains, land, rocks in a lake with weeds in the water, It is realistic to most of us. House? What house? Its in the middle of nowhere, there is no house in the scene, Frankly Im a little insulted!

Sorry, so sorry. If don't always see as well, when I sit up so late as I've been doing. I just thought I'd viewed some of your photos that were so good they were beyond belief. You do good work. Really. I didn't understand what the dark image to the left was. Anyway, forgive me, because you do good work. Again, Really you do.

Some remote places have shacks or whatever but I just didn't see that. Take care. We all have some areas that we are better in than others and I was constructive. I looked at your other winnings and photography. Some of it is exceptiona, all of it is good.

I thank you for saying I am a great photographer, but I also love the paint, and am improving a lot, if you checked out my earlier work, this one was challenging, but since the original photographer loves it, I am very proud of it.

Lovely painting of the glaciers and the colors on the blooms that are glorifying the cold region of Alaska.
Wonderful picture like scenery with good composition and overall pleasing appeal.
Thank you for sharing!

As a (hopefully) expanding self taught artist..I always seek ways to challenge my abilities, landscape art is not one I have ventured into yet. I appreciate your inspiration and effort on this work. What I feel you could work on is your depth and composition in the foreground, your peaks and sky are very nice..good job best of luck in the contest!
