These guys are well rendered. Nice composition with all three of them placed nicely within the frame. The grass adds realism. I am just not sure the background adds depth, seems two dementional to me. Cute dogs though, all the best in the contest

Thank you.I really didn' attempt to make the background dimensional as I painted the dogs on a plaque that I really meant to stay dark. But with my making a mistake of gessoing the plaque, of all things, with black, I had to change plan. I just placed the background behind for the contest, being about cuteness--I think. Thanks for your input and I agree.

I love puppies and these three are adorable. They look so realistic! I had a Chihuahua for 14 years and I had to have him put down this summer. It broke my heart. I would love to take home any one of these puppies to share the love I have for them.

You are one of the sweetest and kindest people. Thanks for the "6". The black daschund was once small and cute too, not bigger than the soft football she'd run with across the yard. Yes. It hurts to lose our family members. And, that's what they are. I'd asked my husband, "Please, don't ever get another dog." It just hurt so. All of these are passed too. So sorry about you loss. Chihuahuas are so intelligent, sensitive. My sister had a Chihuahua that had tears run down its face when it thought she was leaving him. She was going to be gone only overnight but she had to come back and get him.

Bless that little Chihuahua's heart. They don't like to be alone. That would be the biggest drawback from me getting another. Well, my husband might divorce me too. Not really. When I got Buddy, he didn't know I was buying him. I walked in with him and sang Happy Birthday to me. He didn't talk to me for over a week. He got over it and loved Buddy too.

Outliving our pets is an unfortunate aspect of life and seems so unfair at times but the chance to live with them and all the joy they bring to us makes it all worth it. Tho the heartbreak of losing a cherished family member is heartbreaking, its the looking back and seeing how much joy they brought to our lives and how much they loved us that is endearing. What you have captured in this piece is a lifetime of joy and love and it truly shows. The happy excitement in their eyes says it all.

Adorable! Great detail and shading.My only suggestion might be to add something minor in background (maybe a far off tree or a barn way in back) I really like it though.

Thanks much. I thought of that and do have a barn in two full horses I did but this was on a small plaque and I thought it might make it crowded. Thanks just the same, Julie.

The three of them look adorable, and seems to be very good friends. I enjoyed reading your notes as well telling us how much your boys liked to play with them.
The dogs are done paying a very good attention to details, and I also like the feel of motion with the ball in play. Good use of high lights as well.
The format and framing is perfect, and the three dogs are well placed within the frame. I think this is a truly sweet and well done work of art, and I wish you luck with the contest.
