Beautiful skimmer. Beautiul the way the background is blurred. Like the colors there a they compliment the skimmer. Love the blacks and silvers in the wings of this skimmer, also the body. But now what is hanging down, looks like a stick, is it?

This is an amazing close-up. Your photo is perfect focused, exposed and treated with mixed media. I am impressed by the sharpness of detail and the realism of color and light. The light reflections at the eyes, the body, and the wings are especial interesting. The insect stands excellent out from shallow background. The bokeh of the background is unobtrusive sand emphasizes the twelve spot skimmer nicely. The diagonal placement of the insect pleases the equilibrium of the viewers. The mixed media is expertly composed and framed. The composition is balanced.

I have been capturing shots of dragonflies all summer and have found them to be just as interested in me as I was them. This is a wonderful shot showing the elaborate detail of these beautiful creatures. Loving this shot! Maybe with a little predigest because I love them so much!
