Definitely an impressive capture of this pair of mating dragonflies! You definitely have a good eye to have seen this behavior and been able to photograph it. Very good focus and exposure for this great capture!

Those dragonflies look like circus acrobats. How one insect balances on the back of the other is impressive. Your photo is well focused and exposed, and has good depth. I appreciate the realism of color and light and the refinement of detail. The photo is well composed and framed. The tall format is sufficient. The composition is balanced.

I have never seen anything like this. Right place right time. But that doesn't say the time when you saw this happening to the time the shutter was snapped. It had to be a few seconds. A six star photo doesn't have to be a beautiful scene. It can be like yours. It takes quick wits to see this. Fantastic.

You are right, a very unusual situation and you had the chance to not only see it but to take a picture being exceptional even from your position and your angle as they did not leave - clear and sharp in details, natural perfect contrast - a really special shot, thanks for sharing

A good looking nature image posted here! Your fine and appropriate composition offers us an enjoyable view of those two playing insects. Cannot see the connection to weightlifting?! Exposure and sharpness are fine. Nicely taken!

A great shot of this pair of dragonflies mating on the wing. Excellent cropping and great colors in both the insects and thier surroundings. The female (below) appears to be depositing her eggs in the water.

Maybe helping the female from falling into the water while she is laying her eggs maybe? Not sure..just guessing. Interesting capture. The clarity is great. The angle of the shot of this dragonfly hanging onto the other is great. The capture of the light is great. The image is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. Good eye and great job overall.

Fred,
A beautiful & interesting picture of this pair of Dragonflies one balancing the end of it's abdomen just behind the other's head as it rises up from the water as it balances on the tip of it's abdomen on the bank just below the water. The sunlight catching the sparkle in their eyes while highlighting both of them. as they stand out in three dimensions from the water behind them. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.
Susan
