This is indeed striking photo with the light shining so lovely through the white blossom, and the colorful butterfly sitting on it. I also like the dark background because both the flower and butterfly is standing out so well from it.
The photo is pin sharp and it is indeed clear and well defined details to be seen both in the flowers and the butterfly. The white balance and exposure is spot on.
The format and tight framing is perfect, and with the flower off to the left, it is a very good balance in the composition. I think this is a truly lovely and well taken photo Lee Ann, and with an excellent DOF. I wish you luck with the contest.

I wish I had a 6 left, as this is so special in this position and angle with the black background that it stands out so beautifully - the sunlight reflection is beautiful as it lets us the butterfly - your arrangements and adjustments are excellent - your angle and position fantastic , your moment special in such a close up that ever tiny details are clear and shrp with perfect contrast and ighting - excellent contest entry , best of luck

A artistic & very beautiful picture of the Monarch Butterfly alighted on the rim of the trumpet shaped Datura flower the sunlight glowing through the Butterfly's wings & the flower's trumpet.
