I think this must be once of the most beautiful photos I have seen of a white egret. It almost has a painterly look, and I especially like the way the wings look almost transparent. I also like a lot that the sky is grey, and the color pallet is so delicate.
The bird is standing out sharp and well defined against the sky, and it is indeed clear details to be seen in both the bird's feathers and the branches. The white balance and exposure is spot on.
I also like the way you have cropped the photo, and the placement of the bird within the frame. A truly beautiful and well taken photo with an excellent DOF, and I wish you luck with the contest.

Hi Annie, what a great compliment, one of the most beautiful! Wow.
I had a blast sitting under this tree and just captureing movement of many egrets at the same time. They were all busy building nests in spring. And the high rating, just frosting on the cake!

It's such an interesting photograph with egret wings spread out gently in full splendour as it attempts to land on a tree top. It's lean legs set it apart. It's a beautiful composition and timing of the click is perfect for the contest entry. The cloudy background is an added bonus. Best wishes for the contest
