Love the long beak on this Sooty Oystercatcher. Hope you 48th Anniversary was wonderful. Nice blues in the water. Grounds, dried grass or whatever okay. Nice capture of the bord with such red eye.

'Good Show',Mary!
That's another Australian species that I've never seen or even heard of!
( Although it's head and beak resemble those of the giant 'Nightmare Bird' I drew several years ago! : ) )
It's an interesting picture,my friend!

Thanks so much Fred, hopefully in 2 years we can celebrate more with family and friends we were in lockdown for my 70th earlier this year. :)

What a beautiful photograph of this bird with spectacular colors on its beak. And you have captured the moment just right with great bird's posture and overall placement within the frame.
I am sure you had a good time on the beach. Thank you for sharing.

A reasonable looking nature shot posted here! Your fine and appropriate composition offers us an OK view of that pretty bird. Exposure is fine but I feel your photo is not sharp enough. Otherwise a good try!

Thanks Nik, yes think the resize impacts on presentation at time.

First of all : Congratulations on your 48th anniversary!
This bird really stands out here because of its dark color, I especially like the orange beak and that red eye!
Good stop action , I can see the lifted foot.
Well focused, this image is clear, exposure is correct, colors and tones appear natural.
Well composed and presented!

A beautiful little wading bird that is nicely shown in its natural environment. A well composed image with good detail in the black plumage and great colors.
