It seems that the "headless horseman" will have ample competition this Halloween. A nice shot with very good colors and fine detail in the plumage.

oops..there is another hiding from the photographers..lol. the clarity is great. the angle of the shot of this headless bird on the branch is great. the capture of the light is great. the image is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. good eye and great job overall.

Fred,
Another "Headless" bird perched high in the trees near the lake holding it's head down either preening it's breast or watching for movement in the water below indicating it's potential next meal. The clear blue sky creating the perfect backdrop. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus. Once again if it actually had no head it would fall off it's perch!

It seems that you like this time the headless birds, and this heron is again specially captured as the position he is standing on such a small part of the tree is special.

This headless heron, as you've named them or it, looks kinda like an air baloon (shape, that is) covered with feathers and legs hanging down. Must sat it is creative as I think upon it. The limb it is upon is so plain but the sky is lovely.
