A beautiful picture, with a great created color change letting the butterfly stand out in perfection - a nice idea and great result - a well framed picture with a super harmonious content, clear and sharp in details, nice and natural contrast
the position, angle and close up are fantastic as well as the moment, in such a position - well seen, well reacted and well presented
All the best for the contest

A beautiful picture of the Monarch Butterfly hanging from the flower head. Your selective colour adjustment draws the eye to the butterfly & it's beautifully patterned & coloured wings & black body with white spots. Artistic composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

Gorgeous!! I love this composition where the brilliant colours of monarch butterfly are allowed to dominate by keeping everything else black and white. It's made it so appealing!! Kudos and best wishes for the contest

Photographs like this always appeal to me and this one has really popped because of your decision to display it with selective colour. A lovely crystal clear shot and a worthy contender for the contest. Well done and good luck

That's a Really Cool looking picture,my friend!
The coloration of that Monarch stands out wonderfully against the grey monotone of the rest of the scene!
'Good Show'!

What a beautiful work!!! Love the flowers and the butterfly. It is like the flowers, branch and background mesh into a selective color of "grays". I'm not as familiar with the "Selective Color" so a kinda silly question, "Does it have to do with one or two colors in particular, mostly one, more prominent? Thanks for a reply. Wonderful work.

Thanks for the very nice review. Selective color is usually where the photo is converted to B&W except for usually one color,as was the requirement for this contest.

Welcome. And, thanks for the answer. I did not know about the changing all but one color to B&W. I am so so appreciative and learning on this site.

An eye catching shot that is very nicely composed. The selective color is perfect and the detail in both the butterfly and the butterfly bush are excellent. Best of luck in the contest.

Nicely done. Using the black and white and then selective color really shows off the monarch well. Nicely centered and I like the blurred background. I also like that it is hanging.

Nice capture. The clarity of this butterfly on the white flowers is great. The clarity is great. The capture of the light is great. The image is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. Good eye and great job overall.

Very nice entry for this contest, I like the selective color on the monarch butterfly, your use of selective color this way keeps the eye on the butterfly to study it's beautiful orange parts of its wing.
The butterfly is well placed within the scene and in a nice pose coming up from underneath the flower.
This is of course, well focused, this image is clear, exposure is correct, that orange tone appears natural, I see good tones in the grey scale as well.
Well composed and presented! Best wishes to you in this contest!
