Talking about sunflowers, I had orders from my better half to plant her one this year and they turned out pretty good. I like the color and the background makes it stand out really well. This cheerful sunflower is nicely shaded. You have given the petal nice definition and blended them nicely. I am unsure as to the contest the image was taken in, but it makes for an composition as a drawing. Its hard to put the flower into context. It works well with the seemingly abstract background you have made here though. Placing it directly in the center wouldn't have been my first choice. It is nicely done, thanks for sharing

Welcome. Thank you much. I did it a long time back and probably didn't consider the placement as much but did try to draw it exactly as the photo given me. I'm working on this one in colored pencil.

Beautiful sunflower. Very well done using pastels which is not an easy medium to do details with. It's the medium I work with and it's not easy. Love the colors of the flower and the background is beautiful as well. Excellent work.

Thank you. I have mostly worked with oil pastels except for this one, I'm not sure. I purchased pan pastels and hope to work with them, along with pastel pencils. You have inspired me. Thanks again.
