This guy is indeed in flight, and your stop action is just perfect. Of course it is great to see acrobatics like this, but I am especially impressed about how well you have captured the big foamy wave. I also like that the background is soft, because this makes the wave and the man on the sailing board to standout really well.
The photo is very sharp and it is truly clear and well defined details to be seen all over. The red colors are crisp and clear, and the exposure is spot on.
I also like the format you have cropped the photo into, and I think it is a fine balance in the composition. I think this is a great looking and well taken photo with an excellent DOF, and I wish you luck with the contest.

What a wonderful photographical piece. Love the splash of the waves/waters as the plane takes off. Really nice foreground, nice middle ground, and sky. The back hills against the sky are ok, although I do like the splashes against them or shadows of blue, whichever it is. Would make a nice painting also, I think, as well.

Your capture shows the danger and the excitement of this sport. Your photo is well focused and exposed and has good depth. I appreciate the realism of color and light and the refinement of detail. The action photo is well composed and framed. The skate-border has a good placement within the frame. The composition is balanced.
